[Skin Care Review] Pixi Overnight Glow Serum

Howdy, fellas? In this post I’m going to share with you some of my thoughts on this concentrated exfoliating serum!

I was a freak of Korean skincare products. It was really rare for me to buy western-made skincare products as I thought that Asian skin shall stick to Asian products. So it was merely an impulse when I decided to purchase this serum.

List of ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Glycolic Acid, Polysorbate 20, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Ammonium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Propylene Glycol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Arginine, Disodium EDTA, Tocopheryl Acetate, Retinyl Palmitate, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Lecithin, Sucrose, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cyclopentasiloxane, BHT, Cyclohexasiloxane, Xanthan Gum, Ascorbic Acid.

How to apply:

  1. After you use a toner, dispense a drop or two of the product onto your palms.
  2. Rub both of your palms.
  3. Apply onto face with dabbing motion instead of rubbing.

This brand has gotten very popular in my country for the past year. I formerly wanted to order the highly praised toner, but the shop that I wanted to order it from didn’t want to sell the product because they often leak. As to emphasise my previous statement, this was merely an impulse. The packaging itself is so-so, but the idea of using a pipet instead of a pump is a plus point for me, because you can dispense the product even in more control.

Many people complained about the dropper; they said that the product was impossible to dispense with that kind of packaging. I haven’t encountered such problem myself. It has a rather gluey fragrance that I cannot describe, but it doesn’t bother me a lot. The product’s consistency itself is really thick, but the moment you apply it on your skin it got absorbed within a minute. After 3 weeks of usage, I’m beginning to see that my skin’s dullness has reduced a bit. That desired Korean glow is not a lie! It also helped my skin to reduce the occasional breakouts and redness, which is apparent on the reducing amount of concealers I have to apply on daily basis.

Now this is where people tend to screw their skin. Remember guys, it is not a great idea to exfoliate your skin EVERY SINGLE DAY. The idea of exfoliating your skin is to remove the oldest dead skin cells on the skin’s outmost surface. If you slough off the surface layer of dead skin too often, your body will overcompensate by producing more oil or becoming even drier [thefashionspot.com]. Personally I only use this serum once every 4 days. Be gentle to your skin, fellas!

Final verdict:

Score: 4/5

Price: IDR 390,000 or US$29

Pros:

  • Hydrating my extremely dry skin at the moment
  • Brightening
  • Reduces my breakouts and redness
  • A little goes along the way

Cons:

  • A little of gluey fragrance

Thank you for reading my post! Have a nice day! 🙂
